Having been led by the spirit of God, we have received Jesus Christ as Savior and
Lord. We have, according to the Scriptures (John 1:12) been born again through
the Holy SPirit and have publicly confessed our faith by word (Rom. 10:8-10) and in
baptism (Rom 6:3-5). We subscribe to the Doctrinal Statement of our church, and
do now enter into covenant with its members as one body in Christ (1 Cor.
12:13).
We will endeavor, with the aid of our Savior (Phil. 2:13).
1. Walk lovingly (John 13:34-35) and humbly together as a Church family ((1 {et/
5"5); to pray for one another (James 5:16); to separate ourselves from worldliness and
unchristian practices (Titus: 12);
2. To pray (James 1:5-6) for the advancement of our Church in knowledge,
spirituality, and fruitfulness (John 15:8, 16); to uphold its programs of worship, training,
and teaching; to observe its ordinances (Matt. 28:19-20, 1Cor. 11:24-27); and affirm its
doctrines (1 Pet. 3:15, Jude 3);
3. To give regularly and cheerfully, as God prospers, for the support of our own
evangelistic and edification ministries (2Cor. 9:7, 1Cor. 16:2); for the relief of theneedy
(Mark 14:7, Prov. 19:17); and for the spreading of the gospel over the earth (Matt.
28:19-20);
4. Tp serve faithfully in some activity of the Church (James 1:22-24, 2:18); taking
care to assume only such duties as can be effectively performed (1Cor. 4:2); to improve
our abilities in service by prayerful study of God's Word (2Tim 2:15);
5. To maintain family worship, encourage family, prayer, Bible study, and Christian
nurture for any under our care (Eph. 6:4; Pov. 22:6);
6. To lead by example (Matt. 5:16) and effort (Matt. 28:19-20), and to enlist
unchurched believers for membershi in the Church (Acts 2:47);
7. To follow the New Testament as our rule of faith and practice (2Tim. 3:16-17);
8. To aid each other in sickness and distress, to cultivate Christian sympathy in
feeling and couresy in speech, to be slow to take offense, but always ready to
reconciliation and to secure it without delay, being mindful of the example and teachings
of our Savior (Matt. 18:15-17, Gal. 5:13-26);
9. To seek, and unite with another church where we can carry out the spirit of this
covenant and the principles of God's Word upon leaving this local assembly (Heb.
10:25)
